8th Grade Earth Science
Eighth Grade Science Curriculum focuses on Earth Science concepts with an
emphasis on problem solving and scientific inquiry. Students will explore Earth
Science through units that focus on Meteorology, Geology, and Astronomy.

Classroom Expectations
Expectations are established by the teachers on our grade-level team and are classroom expectations for all rooms throughout the team. 8th
Grade
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES
1. ENTER THE CLASSROOM- Do not
enter the classroom until the previous class has left and the teacher is
present.
Come into the classroom, put all other items under your desk and
work on
your bell work.
2. TAKING NOTES- Everything the teacher
writes on the
board is important: you need to write it in your
notes.
3. ASSIGNMENTS- Write in the upper right hand corner:
Name, Date,
Assignment and Hour.
4. ASKING FOR HELP- Have your book out and
open to the
correct page, have your notes, raise your hand, and wait for the
teacher to come
to you.
6. LATE WORK/MAKE UP WORK-There are
folders hanging on
the wall with each day of the week printed on them.
It is your responsibility to get your missed work and any notes taken while you
were gone.
7. CLASS DISMISSAL- The teacher will dismiss you, not
the
bell. You may not leave the room
until the teacher dismisses
you.
8. ANSWERING A QUESTION-You must raise your hand and wait to
be called on before answering.
